The Sissi Stefanidi fountain, located in 1927 in Cișmigiu Park in Bucharest, is a sculpture made by Ion Dimitriu-Bârlad.

What is the significance of the monument?
The monument represents a mother grieving the death of her daughter, pouring water from a jug. At the bottom of the statue is engraved the inscription:
SISSI SPRING
WORSHIP MY DEAR CHILDREN
SISSI STEFANIDI
The statue was erected at the request of the Stefanidi family after the death of their daughter Sissi at the age of 21. The place where the statue is located belonged to the Stefanidi family and was donated to the city hall for the construction of the New Garden.
