The bust of Titu Maiorescu is made in marble by the sculptor Ion C. Dimitriu-Bârlad. Placed in 1943, it is one of the twelve busts in the Writers’ Round in Cișmigiu Garden.

Titu Maiorescu (1840 – 1917) was one of the outstanding personalities of Romania at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
Romanian writer, teacher, academic, literary critic, esthetician and philosopher, his entire activity profoundly marks one of the most flourishing eras in the history of Romanian literature: the period of the Great Classics.
itu Maiorescu was a founding member of the “Junimea” literary society, considered the most important cenacle and the most important cultural society in the history of Romanian literature. The role of Junimia, of Maiorescu himself, is linked to the creation and imposition in the public consciousness of writers such as Eminescu, Creangă, Caragiale, Slavici, Duiliu Zamfirescu and others.
